Mented Cosmetics, The Makeup Brand For And By Us, Just Raised $3 Million In Funding
We love any and all forms of #BlackGirlMagic and MentedCosmetics' recent win is definitely yet another reason to keep an eye on the brand.
The company recently announced a new round of $3 million in series seed from lead investor CircleUp Growth Partners. "This time around we pitched to far fewer [venture capitalists] – about 30 in total – and this time we were the ones saying no," co-founder, KJ Miller saidto Forbes.
Founded by KJ Miller and Amanda E. Johnson, two Black women, the makeup brand was born out of the frustration they experienced not being able to find a nude lipstick that truly matched their skin tone.
